Parent support and coaching in Burlington
You are not alone

Parenting through hard seasons can be exhausting.

When a child or teen is struggling, families often feel stuck between worry, conflict, school stress, and trying to keep everyone afloat. Parent support creates space to pause, understand what is happening, and decide on practical next steps.

It can be helpful on its own or alongside counselling or group support for your child or teen.

If you are looking for support with your own exhaustion and mental load, explore burnout counselling for moms.

Parents supporting an autistic child or teen can also explore our autism-affirming counselling in Burlington.

What support can look like

Clearer next steps for your family.

There is no one-size-fits-all parenting advice here. Support is shaped around your family, values, and day-to-day reality.

01

Make sense of what is happening

We look together at patterns, pressure points, and what your child or teen may be communicating through behaviour.

02

Build a realistic plan

Leave with supportive strategies for communication, routines, boundaries, school stress, and emotional regulation.

03

Find the right service

Alicia can help you determine whether parent support, individual counselling, a group, or another option is the best fit.

Start with one difficult moment

You can bring the questions that keep coming up at home.

Parent support can focus on your responses, communication and realistic next steps, even when your child is not ready for counselling.

When arguments keep escalating

You set a limit, the conversation gets louder and neither of you feels heard. Ask about understanding the pattern, holding clear boundaries and reconnecting after conflict. Explore anger and emotional-regulation support.

When school or homework takes over

Getting out of the door or starting an assignment has become the hardest part of the day. School-avoidance support and homework support explain possible starting points.

When you are unsure how much to step in

You want to help with friendships or worry without taking over. We can discuss communication and age-appropriate independence. Friendship support and support for fear of mistakes may be relevant.

This service is guidance for parents and caregivers. It is distinct from individual counselling for a child or teen and does not mean that CG offers couples or whole-family therapy.

Common questions

Good to know before you reach out

What if I keep losing my patience too?

You can be honest about frustration, guilt or exhaustion. Parent support can help you look at difficult interactions and what would make responding more manageable. If you need space for your own wellbeing beyond parenting strategies, we can discuss individual adult counselling.

What if caregivers respond differently to the same behaviour?

You can bring questions about differing expectations, routines and boundaries. We can discuss what you can change in your own responses and what you would like to communicate more clearly. The consultation will clarify the format and whether another kind of service is needed.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. Parent support can begin with you, even if your child or teen is not ready for counselling.

Is this only for parents of young children?

No. We support parents of children, teens, and young adults navigating different stages and challenges.

Can this help us choose a group or counsellor?

Yes. Alicia takes the first call and can help you identify the service or counsellor that may be the best fit.

Is virtual parent support available?

Yes. We offer in-person appointments in Burlington and virtual support across Ontario.
